The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is a beautifying mud-textured exfoliating mask. Honestly, the only reason I purchased this mask was purely because of its name “Himalayan”. Why? I mean, I am from Nepal, and the sheer beauty of the mountains is simply breathtaking though I have never gone that high. Back to the mask, it is formulated without paragons, paraffin, silicon or mineral oil and on top of that it's a 100% vegan product. And of course, charcoal masks are always classic.



This mud is light taupe in colour however the colour changes after drying. It contains green tea leaves from Japan and has finely milled granules so bare with it even if you don’t like it. I love that it comes in a glass container making it reusable. The gentle cooling and firming effects feel like it’s working as soon as you apply it on your face but once dry, it’s all fine. It dries out quickly so keep it for 5 to 7 minutes max and after massaging off, trust me your face feels refreshed. The smell is no problem if you are into a strong smell like tea tree oil. The mask can be easy to apply with your clean fingers however it can get really messy. After using a few times, I can see that my skin looks a lot brighter, cleaner and a lot less dull. It clears out some persistent blocked pores around the nose area. I usually use it when I am on my period to avoid any acne or if I want to exfoliate my face after a long butt butt day. I limit myself to using it once or twice a week. Skin renewal takes time so it’s not recommended to use masks daily. I experienced no redness nor irration on the surface of my skin. I absolutely adore this mask. Definitely a go to mask especially for the HOT SUMMER.

A lot of people have compared it with GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. I can’t comment anything on that as I have yet to get my hands on it. However, if you have tried those masks and are looking for a cheaper alternative, then this is the mask.

This product is definitely recommended for people who are looking to reach and minimise their blackheads and clear out acne. It gives out a clean and healthy looking skin. Not everyone has the same skin type, if you have sensitive skin, I suggest to try a small amount on and see the reaction.
